Better Together: Why We Created the Eastside Neuroscience Institute

The Eastside Neuroscience Institute forms a system of comprehensive neuroscience and spine care services, creating pathways to screen, diagnose, treat, and support patients, while also investing in research, training, and education to meet the needs of our community.

One of our initial accomplishments is most notable in our advancement in stroke treatment. We created a system to provide timely, endovascular intervention for acute stroke, resulting in faster recovery times and improved quality of life. The American Heart Association and other organizations have recognized us as leaders in stroke care, in providing the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment with commendable patient outcomes.

Our accomplishments prepared us to offer more advanced treatment options for cerebrovascular disease. In order to meet the timeliness and quality standards for stroke care, we developed one of the first  eurohospitialist programs in the country. Our standards have not waivered, and we continue to honor our commitment of improving the health and well-being of the communities served.

Providing a full continuum of neuroscience and spine services while creating a coordinated patient-centered experience with accelerated diagnosis and treatment paths drives us to continually adjust and modify to meet the needs of the community. We recognize the impact the pandemic has had on health care services, notwithstanding capacity constraints in some areas. We continue to transform how we deliver care to serve our community and you can expect to see innovation, continued collaboration, and new additions to our team.
